HBASG Members have been invited, as a special interest group to have input on the proposed changes affecting the Lowndes County ULDC (Unified Land Development) documents. Both County Planner JD Dilliard and Councilman Tim Carroll have reached out and shared the attached amendments. They have requested the HBA share this information and gather any member input and share it back with them with our member for input ASAP, Councilman Carroll has to turn in responses and input no later than
April 12th.

As valued stakeholders in our community, we appreciate your time and consideration of the proposed Text Amendments to the Lowndes County ULDC. The majority of these changes are aimed at allowing additional signage to local businesses and updating our internal procedures to reflect our current practices. I’ve attached the proposed sections in their underline and strikethrough format, with a brief coversheet and summary that has been prepared for the Greater Lowndes Planning Commission. In addition to feedback on the ULDC changes, Councilman Tim Carroll has requested feedback from HBASG members on local ordinances that need review and amendments. Are there one or two ordinances that you as HBA members would like to see changed? Including a reason why would be helpful as well. Granted, we are talking about local ordinances not state and federal building codes.  One of the goals coming out the recent city strategic summit was to identify any local ordinances that need review and amendments.  In order to accomplish this, we are taking just a couple from each member of M/C at a time.
